I realize it’s not the Mobile Press Register but the New York Times has an article about the perverse incentives that dominate the current healthcare industry (although the PR did run an editorial cartoon supporting rationality).  I’ve commented on the Atlantic article previously and if you’ve not read it you ought to.
As we try to offer suggestions to policy makers about what would help rural Alabama, anyone who has the ear of state policy makers needs to reinforce that changing the incentives such as they did in North Carolina  is going to have to be a part of any effective improvement effort.
